Bookmarking Ottawa for a dream trip

With folks cautiously daydreaming about travel once again, Ottawa Tourism wanted to keep Canada’s capital top of mind as a destination. To do it, they asked blackiron for timely assistance with Bookmark Ottawa, an integrated digital campaign that needed eye-catching creative, savvy strategy, and smooth operation of an enticing free-trip contest.

To begin, blackiron developed both a logo and a look-and-feel in which to house the campaign, making use of familiar Ottawa landmark imagery and social media design elements. Next, we crafted a range of digital assets that would drive travel-minded traffic to a landing page featuring the free-trip contest and links to explore a variety of Ottawa attractions. 

Across the campaign, clickable messaging that urged viewers to “Plan your dream trip and you could win it” led to the contest page, where entrants could have fun selecting their preferred options from categories that included waterway adventures, city tours, food and drink, and galleries and museums. 

The project called for deft coordination of several moving parts but we embraced the challenge at blackiron because, hey, it’s always fun to encourage a little daydreaming.
